New Mexico & Movies

The film industry is one of the biggest and certainly one of the most powerful business in the world today along with the music, technology, food, and gaming industries. In 1894, the very first motion picture was created and since then, it has skyrocketed far beyond what most people back then could have ever imagined it to go. If you take a literal look at it all, each of the industries go hand in hand with each other, if there was a movie without any music, the picture would be uninteresting and quite awkward. If technology wasn't always remaking itself, we'd be far behind time-wise and that could prove to be costly for everyone. Without films, the world would get kinda boring, lunch time conversations would be bland, and reviewers would become bored and they'd probably start doing stupid reviews on irrelevant stuff.

Transformers wallpaperThe film industry is so big that it can no longer just be this "magical" place in Hollywood, it has taken residence everywhere and somewhat recently, New Mexico has taken the industry in it's wing. Just to name a few blockbuster hits that took part in the "Land of Enchantment" we have had the likes of, Transformers, Terminator Salvation, Little Miss Sunshine, Due Date, The Avengers, No Country For Old Men, The Lone Ranger, and Let Me In which interestingly enough had a few scenes shot on our very own campus in what is know as Teachers Hall. As you can see our state has had some great films and even TV Shows shot here (yup I'm talking Breaking Bad as well as The Dead Zone) Albuquerque Studios located near the Pavilion is our film studio in New Mexico, but stepping away from mainstream media, New Mexico is known for it's artistic influences and throughout the state, Taos and Santa Fe especially, there are hundreds of indie film makers that will work to have their movies played during our two biggest film festivals where indie movie makers come out of the wood works to screen their movie for public that attend.

It's interesting to learn that our state has had the likes of Megan Fox, Shia LeBeouf, Brian Cranston, and Johnny Depp work here for their moment on the big screen!
